Gromit - pastel
I've talked with Laurie for years about
her wire-haired pointer Gromit, and that she wanted a portrait of him. Finally
this year she sent me the photos and as I was finishing up the sketches,
dear ol "Grom" died. The sparkle in his eyes was there with the
first stroke of pastel, it was as though he was there with me, and the painting
came together very quickly. Laurie told me later that she had told him to
come and pay me a visit, because I was painting his portrait for her.
